IT HAPPENED IN MONTEREY… is a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the highly influential Monterey International Pop Music Festival. Developed and curated by ISG Productions, the onsite exhibition is divided into five sections – Plan, Festival, Film, Charity and Impact –  and explores the lasting cultural implications of the festival.

Worldwide Tour

The Rolling Stones’ first ever major traveling exhibition premiers at London’s Saatchi Gallery. EXHIBITIONISM is the most comprehensive and immersive presentation taking over nine thematic galleries. The exhibition is comprised of over five hundred important and unseen artifacts from the band’s personal archives, embracing all aspects of art & design, film, video, fashion, and performance. A worldwide tour will commence in September 2016. Organized by iEC international, ISG Productions served as the exhibition’s curator and project director.

A live and webcast event hosted by Anthony Mason and featuring such guests as Nile Rodgers, John Oates, Julie Taymor, and Peter Asher. Sheppard Gallagher created a “pop-up” museum with historic photographs and Beatles memorabilia in conjunction with the evening.

As Director of Exhibitions for this 150,000 sq-ft museum, Ileen Sheppard Gallagher planned, developed and managed its inaugural galleries, including thematic, solo artist, and historical exhibitions on rock and roll and more than 40 film, video and interactive presentations. She provided management interface between architects, exhibition designers, and media producers.

Sheppard Gallagher was retained by Bravado and the Rolling Stones to organize the retrospective photography exhibition at Somerset House that served as a focal point of the Stones’ 50th anniversary extravaganza in London. The firm also managed the international tour.

When the Connecticut studio of the late modernist composer Charles Ives faced possible destruction, the Academy of Arts and Letters came to the rescue, arranging for the room to become a permanent exhibition in its galleries in Manhattan. Placed in charged of the project, Sheppard Gallagher catalogued the studio’s contents, curated and meticulously reassembled over 3,000 items for the reinstallation. The firm also produced interpretive materials for the exhibition in the surrounding galleries.

Sheppard Gallagher helped plan and develop this 77,000 sq. ft. museum, which was established by Walt Disney’s daughter to tell the story of her father’s life and legacy. As well as interpretive planning, the firm provided project management for exhibition design and fabrication, media production, programming, and operations.
